Yarn Stashio Announces the 12 Days of Christmas Grand Prize Winner for 2010!

Yarn Stashio Announces the 12 Days of Christmas Grand Prize Winner for 2010!

And the winner is ..... Mary A. from Bloomington, Illinois! I think Mary had as much fun as I did. She was almost always the first to place an order after each new day was announced. We had a great time picking out colors and yarns to create exactly what she was looking to make, mostly for others I might add. What Mary does not know is that her grand prizes were included in her last shipment and should arrive shortly.

Here is a photo of her wonderful prizes

I did not announce what the grand prize was ahead of time, well, because I did not know. But it became apparent as the 12 Days progressed that anyone with that much yarn needs a great project bag, don't you think? So, Mary will be receiving a gigantic (about 24" by 12" by 15") limited edition tapestry bag designed by Timeless Totes specifically for knitters valued at $180.

In addition, she will be receiving a hard cover copy of one of the most adorable books that I have come across in a long time written by Debbie Macomber titled "Knit Together: Discover God's Pattern For Your Life." I am about half way through the book myself and am thoroughly enjoying it. I just could not resist making this part of the grand prize since I feel that Mary and I are "knit together" across the miles by way of our knitting and our faith. Highly recommend this one!

So, congratulations and hats off to Mary! She has a ton of knitting ready to go for 2011. Thank you to all who had fun with me and the first ever Yarn Stashio 12 Days of Christmas.

God Bless you all, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! See you back here next year with lots of new yarns, kits and surprises.

On the Twelfth Day of Christmas Yarn Stashio gave to me ... the Ultimate FREE gift

On the Twelfth Day of Christmas Yarn Stashio gave to me ...
the Ultimate FREE gift

Have you ever wished you could have a do over? I know I have. It seems to me there are two kinds of do overs: the one where I messed up so badly I wish I could go back and make it right, and the other is the one where something was so awesome that I wish I could go back and do it again (more on this one later). The ones where I messed up are the ones that seem to haunt me the most. Do you know the kind I am talking about? I am guessing a few things are popping up into your heart and mind as you read this post.

Well, you know what? As much as I would like to give you this kind of do over, I can not. But the good news, is that I know someone who can and His name is Jesus Christ. He is in the business of do overs, God sized do overs. He can wipe the slate clean once and for all, and forever. White as snow the Bible says, a metaphor that I just love to think of as I look out my window right now to stare at the five foot white snow drifts in my driveway!

Well here is the really great news: He has already wiped your slate clean. He did that on the cross at Calvary. All you have to do to receive His free gift of eternal life is ask Him to forgive you for your sins, and accept Him to be your personal Lord and Savior. Simple as that. He has already paid it all: the Ultimate FREE gift is yours for the asking. Hey, He did it for me, so I know He can do it for you, too. If you would like to talk to me more about this kind of do over, please email me anytime at yarnstashio@aol.com. We can even talk on the phone. This is a gift I can share, and I love to share actually, anytime, any place but only Jesus can give it to you. The great news is that this one is already paid for, it is free; all you have to do is to claim it as your own. Can you think of a better time than just before we celebrate His birth? I sure can not.

Well, what can I do about the second kind of do over? Now that the Yarn Stashio 11 Days Of Christmas have been revealed, there may have been one that you wish you had taken advantage of or one that was so great you wish you could do it again? My first thought was to let you pick one day from the previous 11 days and let you have a do over. But Jesus tugged at my heart and said, "What if I only wiped away some of your sins, Kristine, and not others? No, my do over is for everything you have already done and everything you are going to do. No exceptions!"

Okay, I got the message, so here is the deal for Day 12. You are welcome to any and/or all of the free gifts revealed during the first 11 Days of Christmas! Scroll down all the posts and take notes of the days that you would like to repeat. Meet all the requirements for that day and when you check out include a message that includes a list of which days you are doing over and the gifts are yours! How is that for a do over? Head over now for the Yarn Stashio Do Over.

PS The Yarn Stashio Twelfth Day of Christmas "Do Over" is only good for one day, December 20th, 2010.
The good news is that the Jesus' "Do Over" offer is good anytime until death do us part.
But my suggestion is not to wait that long, start enjoying it as soon as you can!!

God bless you and may you have a Blessed Christmas this year and every year,
Kristine/Yarn Stashio

Okay, if you are still knitting for Christmas, you are a better knitter than I! If not, maybe you have someone on your list that knits themselves, or maybe, just maybe it is time to pick up a little something for yourself. Gift knitting is great, but so is making something special for yourself. Since I do not know what you have had your eye on, I would rather you pick out something special for yourself and Yarn Stashio will give you a FREE Lantern Moon Brown Sheep Tape measure to help with your special project.

I just could not resist the new Lantern Moon brown sheep tape measure.
He looks just like the Yarn Stashio sheep logo, doesn't he!

This adorable little tape measure is a delight to use and is a 5' measure.

So, here's the deal for Day 11: Go for that special little something you have had your eye on for months, spend $40 or more and we will include a brand new Lantern Moon Brown Sheep tape measure ($10) automatically with your order! Simple as that. The Lantern Moon Tape measure will be available for sale as stock allows after this promotion ends.

If we run out of little brown sheep we will let you know but we will re-order more and ship them to you when they arrive. We want everyone to be able to have a little fun while they knit.

We got buried with 17" snow on Saturday along with 50 mph winds creating 5' drifts in our driveway. Today, we are adding on another 8-10" just for a bit more fun! Anyway, Day 12 is coming soon and it will be worth it!

Remember the first post at the end of November? Just in case you have been wondering, well, with only two days left, we have several knitters who are very close in their grand totals for the 10 days so far. The Grand Prize winner will receive something really wonderful that will be announced in a post on Christmas Day. In no particular order (honest), here are the top 5: Myra J., Mary A., Deborah S., Susan S.W., and Christine K.

Merry Christmas and God Bless,

On the Tenth Day of Christmas Yarn Stashio gave to me ... Free Feza Alp Natural Fishnet Fun Pattern ($5), $5 off the new Yarn Stashio Whimsy Yarn Pack and a Coordinating Shawl Pin ($5)

On the tenth day of Christmas Yarn Stashio gave to me ...
Free Feza Alp Natural Fishnet Fun Pattern ($5),
$5 off
the new Yarn Stashio Whimsy Yarn Pack
and a Coordinating Shawl Pin ($5)
(Extended Days: December 10-13, 2010 Only)

Time is running out but I still have a few fast knits for Christmas gifting up my sleeve, no pun intended. I just had to offer something using Feza Alp Natural, Feza's newest yarn. I decided to combine it with our newly added Yarn Stashio exclusive; the Yarn Stashio Whimsy Yarn Pack.

The new design is called Feza Alp Natural Fishnet Fun.
What do you think?

The Feza yarn and the Whimsy Yarn Pack were combined to create the Feza Alp Natural Fishnet Fun Pattern. The wrap is knit on US 19 circular needles using Feza Alp Natural, which is a much lower gauge all natural, no wool yarn, and then embellished with the Whimsy Yarn Pack to create a very open weave, one of kind wrap that can be worn as a necklace scarf, cowl scarf, worn as a poncho-like wrap, gathered up to create a lacy shoulder wrap: the list goes on and on. The pattern shows several possibilities but every time my daughter puts it on we think of another way to wear it. I am sure you will come up with a few on your own as well.

The best part is that you get to help in the design! The wrap requires one skein of Feza Alp Natural and one Yarn Stashio Whimsy Yarn Pack. You pick your colors, or we will be glad to offer some suggestions if you like. No two will ever be alike because of how the Whimsy yarns are added in as you knit.

NOTE: There is enough yarn to easily make 2 small/medium wraps or one larger size.
It sort of grows a little after it is knit, so the small/medium will fit most.

So, here's the deal for Day 10:

Buy 1 skein of Feza Alp Natural and one Whimsy Yarn Pack, colors of your choice and get the brand new Feza Alp Natural Fishnet Fun Pattern ($5) designed by Yarn Stashio, $5 off the new Yarn Stashio Whimsy Yarn Pack and a coordinating made-for-your-kit shawl pin made with a skirt kilt pin wrapped in yarn ($5). The pattern is a PDF download to get you knitting right away.

Time to head on over to Feza Alp Natural Yarns and to Whimsy Yarn Packs to put your colors together.
We will automatically include qualifying gifts with your order!
Simple as that.

Offer begins at midnight December 10, 2010 and expires at midnight December 13, 2010 to give you extra time to select your color options. No discount code is required. Qualifying gifts will be automatically added to your order. PDF download patterns will be emailed when order is prepared for shipment. While quantities last.

Merry Christmas and God Bless,

On the Ninth Day of Christmas Yarn Stashio gave to me ... Free Evening Stole Pattern ($5) and Dichroic Glass Button ($10)

On the Ninth day of Christmas Yarn Stashio gave to me ...
Free Knit Collage Evening Stole Pattern ($5)
designed by Yarn Stashio
and Matching Dichroic Glass Button ($10)

I really can not say enough about how fun the Knit Collage Gypsy Garden yarn is to knit with so I have designed a super quick knit just in time for that little black dress and Christmas; the Knit Collage Evening Stole Pattern ($5) complemented with a hand crafted large dichroic glass button ($10) to really dress it up for your night on the town. The Evening Stole shown was knit with 2 skeins of Knit Collage Gypsy Garden Stardust Garland.

Is this adorable or what?

This Knit Collage Evening Stole designed and knit by Yarn Stashio is available
for purchase and will be added to the Knit Items department next week.
If you need it before then, just let me know.

Haven't heard of Knit Collage yet? Well, it is one of the most sought after yarns of the season and very hard to find because it is hand spun and produced in very small batches. To read more about Knit Collage and see all of the colors, please click here: Gypsy Garden Colorways and Pixie Dust Colorways.

We just received another shipment earlier today so we have almost every color at the time of this post.

The Yarn Stashio Evening Stole requires 2 skeins of Knit Collage Gypsy Garden in any color of your choosing and US #35 circular needles as well as one coordinating button about 1 1/2' in size. It is a quick and easy knit taking just a few hours to complete. It could be worn over a coat/jacket, over a sweater to dress it up or depending on the yarn selected it could be a very dressy wrap for a night on the town.

Fun or elegant, up to you, either way the colors are magnificent and the yarn is super fun to knit. The Stole is reversible, we chose the purl side as the public side to better display the yarn and all the bobbles, but it is equally elegant with the stockinette side as the public side, more refined looking actually.

To see all details and make your purchase go to Knit Collage Yarns.
No discount coupon is required.

One PDF pattern per order will be emailed directly to you as we are processing your order. Purchase two skeins of Knit Collage Gypsy Garden and a hand crafted dichroic glass button will automatically be included with your order. Again, no code is necessary for this one. Offer expires at midnight December 10th. Button will be hand selected to match whatever color yarn you choose. All skeins of Knit Collage Gypsy Garden ordered between now and midnight December 10, 2010 automatically qualify. One button for each pair of Knit Collage Gypsy Garden Yarn, limited only by stock on hand. Button will be made to order and all items will ship out no later than Monday December 13, 2010.

Merry Christmas and God Bless,
Kristine

Hand Spun Bouquet
Pagewood Farm Hand Spun Bouquet Yarn is a member of their U-Knitted Nations yarn line that features unique yarns from around the world. The hand spun "bouquet of flowers" is a big, quick knit, with colorful felted flowers attached to the hand spun base yarn. It is almost as if the flowers bloom as you knit or crochet along! Makes knitting totally fun as the next unexpected flower pops into place. About 50 yards per skein.

Hand Embellished Flora
The hand embellished "flora" is a big, quick knit, with colorful hand felted flowers that are then hand needle felted onto the hand spun thick and thin base yarn. It is almost as if the flowers bloom as you knit or crochet along! Makes knitting totally fun as the next unexpected flower pops into place. This yarn is truly a work of art for a very special project. About 70 yards per skein.

Fuzzy Purls
The hand spun "fuzzy purls" is a big, quick knit, with fun synthetic fur puff balls attached to the hand spun base yarn. Makes knitting totally fun as the next unexpected fur ball pops into place. On the Seventh Day of Christmas Yarn Stashio gave to me ... Feza Patterns Galore

On the seventh day of Christmas Yarn Stashio gave to me ...
  Feza Patterns Galore
(December 7, 2010 Only)

In keeping with fast knits for Christmas gifting, I just had to offer something using Feza Alp Oriental. I love yarns with a story and Alp Oriental has one all its own. The story of Feza Alp Oriental is far different than any other yarn we carry in our collection. It was created by the creator of Feza Alp Premier and Dazzle, Figen Vardar. Figen wanted to give a very personalized and one of a kind afghan to her niece as a wedding present. She knew it would require several different colors and fibers to give the exact unique look she was looking to create. So she put together her favorite fibers and colors to create one combination that would be so unique and beautiful that it would be more special than any other gift the bride would receive. The outcome was so breathtaking that Feza Yarns could not help themselves; they wanted to share this wonderful yarn with you and so does Yarn Stashio.

It knits up beautifully and is wonderfully soft to the touch. There are several patterns that require just one ball of Alp Oriental and the fun part is that the fringes are already cut, tied and ready to go! Usually the part I dread at the end of a project, don't you?

So, here's the deal for Day 7:

Buy 1 ball of Feza Alp Oriental ... get a Feza Alp Oriental Pattern Booklet ($3), a Feza Alp Oriental Cable Scarf Pattern ($3) and a Yarn Stashio designed Feza Alp Oriental Cardigan Pattern ($5) all for free. The scarf and the cardigan require one ball of Alp Oriental (pictured below) and the patterns in the booklet require 1-6 balls to complete. See booklet long description for more details. The other two patterns are PDF downloads.

Spend $75 on Feza Yarns ... get a free Feza Yarns Dare to Dream Pattern Book ($10).

If your total includes at least 1 ball of Feza Alp Oriental AND totals $75 or more in Feza Yarns, you will get all the above included free with your order!

Time to head on over to Feza Yarns.
We will automatically include qualifying gifts with your order!
Simple as that.

Offer begins at midnight December 7, 2010 and expires at midnight December 8, 2010.
No discount code is required. Qualifying gifts will be automatically added to your order.
PDF download patterns will be emailed when order is prepared for shipment.
While quantities last.

Oh before I forget, there is a great free pattern on Ravelry.com called a Simple Triangular Shawl that is just perfect for one ball of Feza Alp Oriental, there are even photos of one. Be sure to head over there and check that out, too. Just go to patterns and do a search and it should pop right up.

On the Sixth Day of Christmas Yarn Stashio gave to me ... a Choice of Two Gifts

On the sixth day of Christmas Yarn Stashio gave to me ...
a Choice of Two Greener Living Soap Nuts Gifts
(December 6, 2010 Only)

We are passionate about many things at Yarn Stashio. One of those things are Greener Living Soap Nuts. Now, we realize that trying something new is often a risky and costly experience, so we want to take the risk out of trying Greener Living Soap Nuts for your laundry/cleaning needs as well as trying the Greener Living Soap Nuts Shampoo and Body Bars (specially formulated for Yarn Stashio using Greener Living Soap Nuts). No, soap nuts are not the answer to everything, nor will they cure cancer unfortunately, (although they work wonders on eczema and psoriasis) but they sure come close and they are good for the environment at the same time.

Soap nuts are the first all natural product that we have tried that exceeded our expectations; most natural products cost more and are not as effective as their counterparts. We have not found that to be the case with Greener Living Soap Nuts. Our hope is that you agree, too. But the only way that can happen is if you try them!

So, here's the deal for Day 6:

Spend $35 on anything your heart desires ... get a Greener Living Soap Shampoo Bar and a Body Bar ($10)
Spend $50 on anything your heart desires ... get a 1.1lb bag of Greener Living Soap Nuts ($20)

Time to head on over to shop. We will automatically include qualifying gift with your order! Simple as that.
Of course, they come gift ready, too!

Offer begins at midnight December 6, 2010 and expires at midnight December 7, 2010.
